finally back from hawaii with more than a couple mosquito bites, emotional scars, and shallow first year ethnic studies student observations. aside from the literal drug induced deterioration of certain relatives, the trip witnessed a few relationships with family members begin to crumble.
to be sure, the trip had its share of positive experiences, but i would be bullshitting if i claimed that it was a “success.”
now to recuperate from the ruthless consumption and abuse suffered at the hands of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders.

new: check out some pictures. and yes, i am wearing an abercrombie shirt (to my credit, it was a hand-me-down from the brother). apologies to the entire progressive api community for my shameful lapse in fashion judgment. hopefully not too many bridges have been burnt by my actions.

in other news, following a link from freshness magazine i read these two stories on Banksy. The first tears mr. banks a new asshole, while the other shows how well-known the bastard is. i must admit disappointment in the artist whose work i have thought quite highly of. Being sensitive to the issues that Peter Rickards cites in his criticism of banksy, i can understand why he published the photos, effectively blowing banksy’s spot (assuming they are legit). Frankly, Banksy seems to be an arrogant, cowardly, self-absorbed/righteous, and actually quite ignorant (using the N word?!?) tit. it all makes me feel a bit ill. i am obviously passing judgment without actually knowing the whole story, or even knowing banksy himself, but the reports hit home with me, especially after dealing with know-it-all bastard tourists in hawaii. fuck the double standard.
