As I mentioned previously, Hip-Hop In The Park (WHO? Hip-Hop in The Park) has some haters already. Derek was nice enough to make this guy anonymous (i do know who it is, by the way), but here is the dude who is hating:

you know…I shouldn’t be suprised that once the UC regents got rid of Affirmative Action that the Hiphop community at Cal would be transferred to a buncha bourgious kids that have no authentic experience or activity within this Movement. I doubt that there is any 1 artist who has persistently over the months expressed a spirited interest in getting on the bill for the Hiphop in the Park as (edit) has. Despite the fact that I was not able to make it to your meetings you did not give me any avenues to get my music and press packet to your “organization” via mail or any other way. This shit stinks!!! You want publicity for your event, try supporting local artists….independent/GRASSROOTS publicity is the main vein of Hiphop in the Bay…but yall don’t no a damn thing about any of this or that. Hiphop in the Park used to be a real special event…when the Real Hiphoppers organized now…I ask for the last time: what’s really good?

granted, we are a privileged organization. No shit, we are at berkeley and most of our members are Asian, but we sure as hell aint just some music appreciation club that sits around jacking off to Slug. We do have to make a lot more moves working outside of berkeley and doing outreach to oakland, richmond, etc but this person (who does refer to himself in the third person) is just kinda ridiculous considering who is on the bill this year…uuuuhhhh, Frontline, Attik, Ise Lyfe, and Lunar Heights are all local bay cats (as is Niamaj i think), so just cause his old ass isnt on there we arent Bay now? So dude, you do get the STFU award. Oh yeah and do be sure to email us every day again next year and maybe youll get on.
