The genesis of Laundromat United was not unlike any number of half baked schemes envisioned by Capski and Lambo. Delusions of grandeur conveyed over the nerdphone, the two music obsessives decided to join forces under an absurd name to take over whatever part of the world they currently inhabited. 3 years later, the crew is still doing the damn thing with Roza and Lambo in Los Angeles, Taka in the Bay, and Capski in Hawai’i. Initially subjected to the grind of weekly house parties and small time bar jump-offs, the crew has started to taste the sweet juice of bigger venues. The San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Houston have all thus far been part of the Laundromat United experience. From hipster dive bars to Monet-housing museums, LU has dropped dumb dance bombs and made crowds act the fool.

Educated at Berkeley, all of the members of LU also represent something other than DJing. Lambo is currently working HHH Artists, finding the next musician to melt millions of faces. Roza works in the public health sector, fighting for reform and ensuring the availability of quality care to more and more people. Capski is in his 2nd year teaching middle school in Hawaii and will make his return to the continent in the summer of 2008.
